A dry bass and then Charlie Steen starts to sing – actually, to speak. “The Lick” starts with a calm and exciting intro before the song explodes and Eddie Green and Sean Coyle-Smith pound their guitars. This young band called Shame is from South London. Their fan base is growing ever since they formed their band in 2014. Bringing back raw indie rock, Shame’s coolness is reminiscent of Gang of Four – veterans of 80s new wave.

The quintet currently still plays smaller clubs in and around London. And their success has not gone unnoticed, as radio hosts of the BBC have taken up their trail. And they all say the same: you will have to consider this band in the future.
