Holly Macve

Singer-Songwriter /
United Kingdom

The sound of Holly Macve reminds of Rufus Wainwright. Serious chords of piano and guitar plus a solemn voice, singing about the uncertainties of future and ends. There even exists a bedroom demo version of “The Corner Of My Mind”, that she recorded in her Brighton bedroom, wherein she approves to be a veritable storyteller and poet, soft but powerful. Could be just a matter of time until the folksinger graces the next creepy US-telly series with her melodies.

Holly Macve is from a musical Yorkshire family, in her childhood listening to blues, country and jazz. Thus the traces of Big Bill Broonzy, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash or Billie Holiday glow within her music. She chose her first manager by the age of 17. Now her debut album, recorded with Paul Gregory (Lanterns On The Lake), is done and more than ready to be discovered by concert audiences.
