ANCHOR 2017 - The Nominees!

There were heated discussions, sweat and tears, but here they are: the ANCHOR 2017 nominees! With over 50 applications to choose from, the ANCHOR Board had a hard job, but they did it: They picked the best and most promising, the artists with the highest potential!

Here they are, the contestants for the ANCHOR 2017:

Alice Merton (DE / CAN / UK)

The multi-national singer who called Canada, Germany and the UK home, hits a nerve with her "No Roots“, a song that tells the tale of nomadic life. She’s on her way with 34mil streams on spotify.

Fast Romantics (CAN)

The six-piece from Canada with their distinguished vocals present a variety known usually only from music collectives such as Broken Social Scene.

Fenne Lily (UK)

The empathic singer from Bristol enchants even big concerts halls with the power of her elfish voice.

First Hate (DK)

The new electro-pop dream team hailing from Denmark’s capital Copenhagen. Singer Anton Falck’s voice reminds of the young Dave Gahan, accompanied by synthie-pop sounds produced by Joakim Norgaard.

Jade Bird (UK)

Is a young singer-songwriter from London with a breathtakingly clear voice whose songs can compare easily to those of a Leslie Feist
The soul crooner originally wanted to become a professional boxer – but his wonderfully rough voice soon made it clear where he really belongs: on stage and on the radio – in England he is scooping the market with his single “Gospel Truth”
Matt Maltese (UK), only 20 years of age, already writes songs which are influenced by Leonard Cohen’s ballads but also by Jarvis Cocker
The noise rocker three-piece artistically combine elements of grunge, punk, indie, heavy metal, stoner and Brit rock and even R’n’B in their sound
