At just 17, Cassandra Steen performed as a singer on the infamous Freundeskreis album “Quadratur des Kreises” (“Squaring the Circle”) that catapulted German Hip Hop back into the mainstream. It was the beginning of a successful career, that already lasts more than two decades. Because of her incomparable, spine-tingling voice many were eager to sing duets with the Stuttgart-based soul singer.  National and international artists such as Ne-Yo and Lionel Richie have worked with Steen, creating successful and celebrated works. In 2009, she had a super hit with her song “Stadt” (“City”), with Adel Tawil as her duet partner.  The song featured on her album “Darum leben wir” (“This is what we’re living for”) which won Cassandra Steen a Golden Record in 2009. “Stadt” was even awarded with a Platinum Record. The gifted singer won a series of international and national prizes. She was nominated for the World Music Award, the MTV Europe Music Award, the Comet and the 1Live Krone. In 2011, her album “Mir so nah” (“So close to me”) won her the ECHO award as Best German Artist.

What’s more, Steen is a member of the popular band Glashaus, featuring also Moses Pelham and Martin Haas. Up to 2009, the band published four albums with Steen as lead singer, after a creative hiatus the new Glashaus album “Kraft” (“Power”) was released and in 2017. The ensuing tour sold out immediately. In February 2019, Glashaus will stage further shows - Steen’s popularity is unbroken.
